The U.S. Appeals Court in San Francisco rejected a lawsuit that sought significant changes to the rules governing concentrated animal feeding operations. The activist group called Food & Water Watch, wanted to change the burden of proof for potential violations of the Clean Water Act. The National Pork Producers Council said activist groups want to rewrite federal law through the courts and ultimately put pork producers out of business.
