North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum issued a statewide fire emergency to respond to weekend fire conditions. Strong winds on Saturday over western and central North Dakota, along with low humidity values, will create a hazardous situation creating fires and having them spread rapidly. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the North Dakota Forrest Service, and the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services are urging farmers to pay careful attention. Harvest and hay equipment are a major concern for starting wildfires which could spread rapidly.
