The stopgap spending measure allowed the government to avoid a shutdown. Minnesota Farm Bureau is pleased Congress passed the continuing resolution. “That being said there is still some time this year in the lame duck session to hopefully pass some sort of a new reauthorization for the farm bill,” says Loren Dauer, public policy director, Minnesota Farm Bureau. “It’s an election year and because of that, it takes a lot of the oxygen out of the room right now. We’re still pushing for that reauthorization after the election is done.”
