The United States Maritime Alliance has filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the International Longshoremen’s Association. The six-year contract between the port companies and their union expires Monday and a strike is anticipated. The Maritime Alliance claims the union leaders have refused to resume negotiations before the threatened strike. A JPMorgan analysis said this port strike could cost the U.S. economy $5 billion per day.
