South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds has requested a Government Accountability Office review of the Chevron doctrine’s impact on agriculture. This past summer, the Supreme Court overturned the Chevron doctrine which had required courts to uphold a federal agency’s interpretation of certain statutes. Rounds specifically wants the GAO to review the impact on USDA, EPA, the Interior Department and the Department of Energy.
