A new grant program is available to new farmers in Minnesota to offset the cost of farm equipment purchases and farm facilities. The Beginning Farmer Equipment and Infrastructure Grant program will provide up to $20,000 to reduce the barriers to their business. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture expects to award a total of $800,000 to pay for farm equipment and farm infrastructure including irrigation, fencing, livestock buildings and greenhouses.
