The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is hosting a meeting Tuesday night in Thief River Falls to develop plans to increase the size and range of Minnesota’s elk herd. The Legislature passed an amendment to enhance the elk population in northwest Minnesota. There is some pushback from farm groups worried about damage to crops and the animal disease threat.
