New research from CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange found global demand for U.S. soybeans is at a historic low. The report claims international buyers are discouraged by the strong U.S. dollar, slow economic growth and uncertainty over trade policy in an election year. CoBank economist Tanner Ehmke said four factors could reverse this trend. This list includes a smaller-than-expected South American soybean harvest, a bump in European demand, falling interest rates and a recovery in the Chinese economy.
