USDA Undersecretary of Marketing and Regulatory Programs Jennifer Lester Moffitt participated in Wednesday’s North Central Regional Food Business Center Summit in Fargo, highlighting the importance of having many markets for farmers to market their products. “Multiple venues means that the farmer has choices, and then we can keep more of that food dollar in farmers’ pockets.” Moffitt said farmers are more resilient to supply chain disruptions when they have more outlets for their products. The Center focuses on expanding small and medium-sized agricultural value chains in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota.
