The Red River Farm Network caught up with National Wheat Foundation Project Manager Anne Osborne after she completed the second day of the Wheat Quality Council tour. Osborne was on a route from Mandan to Tioga, Bowbells and Kenmare. That’s an area that faced delayed planting. “The durum was pretty immature, just barely coming out of the boot so it looks like it will be a drug-out harvest.” There were disease issues in the crop seen on Day #2. “There was a little tan spot we saw in the flag leaf on some and we saw a lot of tracks where they had taken care of scab. I think everybody will take care of it because they know it is a big crop and the conditions are ripe for it.”
