The last few years have been generally good for farmers financially. With lower commodity prices and high input costs, the next few years could be the opposite. “After some really profitable years, we are coming into some pretty significant headwinds,” said Lynn Paulson, senior vice president of agribusiness development, Bell Bank. Moving forward, Paulson said farmers adopt a back-to-basics approach. “Know your balance sheet, know your cost of production, do some good cash flows, it’s really getting down to ‘Business 101’ again.”
