Minnesota Farmer’s Union Climate and Working Lands Program Director Ariel Kagan emphasizes decarbonization has an impact at the farm level. “Things like green ammonia can reduce emissions while offering opportunities for local production of fertilizer.” Kagan pointed to local production as another key benefit of green farm fuels. “It’s a very volatile farm input as far as price and we don’t want to be dependent on foreign countries for those key inputs.”
