Denmark will be the first country to impose a CO2 tax on livestock farms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This tax still needs approval by the parliament but is expected to take effect in 2030. New Zealand proposed a similar tax on livestock this past month, but dropped the idea after facing criticism from farmers.
