The Iowa Utilities Board has approved the Summit Carbon Solutions carbon pipeline. The IUB said it found the public benefits outweigh the public and private costs of the project. This gives the proposed pipeline the right of eminent domain to complete the project. Once complete, the carbon dioxide will be sequestered permanently underground in North Dakota. The project still needs approval from the other states on the pipeline route.
