Three North Dakota ag groups have submitted a letter to Governor Doug Burgum requesting the state be added to the waiver petition for year-round E15 sales. North Dakota was included in the petition when it was first submitted to the EPA before Governor Burgum rescinded the request. North Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Brenda Elmer says circumstances have changed since then and the state could use year-round E15 sales now more than ever. “Inflation has become a point of contention in a lot of consumers’ lives and the precedent has been set with the eight states that are already exempt. So, we’re asking Governor Burgum to allow consumers to make the choice, not make the choice for them.” The other two groups behind the letter to Burgum are the North Dakota Farmers Union and the North Dakota Ethanol Producers Association.
