The Colorado State University Regional Economic Development Institute has evaluated the economic consequences of a potential Denver meat processing ban. The ballot measure will be up for a vote in November. If passed, the Superior Farms lamb processing plant would be forced to close. This is the largest lamb processor in the country and would result in the loss of up to 20 percent of U.S. lamb harvest capacity.
