In the southern Red River Valley, GL Crop Consulting President Greg LaPlante fully expects to see some corn acres going to prevent plant. Unplanted fields are not the only issue for farmers. “The water table is full now so saturation is going to be an issue and we are going to have to determine the viability of the crop before we put much more money into it. We might have, for the first time in a long time, some failed acres.”
