March was the ninth consecutive month of lower year-on-year output of milk in the U.S. Rabobank Senior Dairy Analyst Lucas Fuess shares how this is expected to affect farmers. “Milk production tightness is finally catching up to us, certainly evident in the cheese prices of late.” The U.S. is not alone when it comes to decreased supply. Global supply is tighter as well and demand has decreased. Fuess expects “slow but steady increases in many dairy commodity prices in the remainder of 2024.”
