The World Food Prize will be presented to Global Crop Diversity Trust Founding Director Geoffrey Hawton and the U.S. special envoy for global food security Cary Fowler. Hawton and Fowler are responsible for the development of the Global Seed Vault. The World Food Prize will be awarded in mid-October in Des Moines.
