The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has created more requirements when importing dairy cattle from the U.S. This is in response to the first confirmed case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a dairy herd in late March. Since April 29th, breeding cattle have been required to have milk tested and a negative test to cross the border. Farmers must be willing to voluntarily test asymptomatic cattle as well.
