The U.S. Meat Export Federation reports a 14% increase in pork exports for February from a year ago and a 15% value increase during that time. Federation President Dan Halstrom attributes the growth to Mexico and strong global market performance. “Korea in particular is exciting because it’s starting to show the inevitable rebound of food service in Korea,” Halstrom says, also reporting that beef exports were good in February. “We’re starting to see international tourism pick up in Asia but it’s especially apparent in the numbers for Korea.”
