To block USDA’s decision to lift the ban on fresh beef imports from Paraguay, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved a resolution of disapproval. The lawmakers are concerned about the threat of foot and mouth disease. The resolution was introduced by South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds and Montana Senator Jon Tester and has the support of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, R-CALF USA, U.S. Cattlemen’s Association, Livestock Marketing Association, National Farmers Union and the American Farm Bureau Federation
