Heifer Shortage Tightens Dairy Market

Daily Dairy Report Market Economist Sarina Sharp delivered a market outlook at the Central Plains Dairy Expo in Sioux Falls. “The dairy heifer shortage is going to have a big impact on dairy producers’ revenue, raising livestock values and limiting the pace of growth in the industry,” said Sharp. “We are tightening milk production and dairy product supplies. but unfortunately, demand is mediocre. We need better exports if we want to see higher milk prices.”
