The latest Meat Demand Monitor from February offered up mixed results, says Kansas State University Extension Livestock Market Economist Glynn Tonsor. “For domestic retail demand was up for six of the eight evaluated products. Conversely, February demand for dinner meals compared to January was lower in all eight examined cases.” Tonsor believes that family finances play a large role in this disparity and could continue to influence spending and food decisions.
