As a student at the University of Minnesota Crookston, Kristie Sundeen planned to pursue equine management and agriculture business. While she loved horses, Sundeen soon realized she had another passion that was maybe a bit more practical. “I kind of fell into the agronomic side of things; I started taking some agronomy classes and I really enjoyed it,” said Sundeen, a field agronomist for Pioneer Seed. “I think of myself sometimes as a little bit of a detective and I’m pretty stubborn so I don’t like to let it go until I know actually what happened.” Sundeen encourages others interested in an agriculture career to not let the bumps along the road get in the way of their goals.
