The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council hosted a second trade trip to Uzbekistan to continue promoting Minnesota soybeans in overseas markets. “They’re currently using about 300, 000 metric tons of soybean meal in the country, but they should be pushing about 1.2 million metric tons, so there is a lot of potential for growth there,” said MSRPC Director Ben Storm. Storm believes that the quality of U.S. soybeans and soybean meal can be a big bargaining chip for advancing trade with Uzbekistan. “The meal out of the U.S. would drastically improve their poultry production.”
