Certis Biologicals Vice President of Research and Development Shaun Berry believes biologicals are largely misunderstood because there are so many categories of them. “They can be bacteria, fungi, viruses; they can also be non-living organisms like plant extracts, volatiles, and chemicals.” Berry sees biologicals as another tool to help farmers deal with weed resistance. “It’s another mode of action. If you make a tank mix of a biological and a chemical, you then have a double or triple mode of action where you’re tricking the pathogen or insect even more.” Here’s a link to the story.
