North Dakota opinions about climate change vary widely. A new poll conducted by the North Dakota News Cooperative found 43 percent of voters see climate change as a serious problem, while 34 percent do not. Eighty-five percent of the respondents do not plan to buy an electric car or truck. Forty percent of those surveyed did not take a position regarding the storage of carbon capture emissions. Chief Research Officer Trevor Smith said environmental issues have become highly politicized with Independent voters being the ‘wild card.’ This survey of 500 North Dakota voters was conducted in early February.
