An annual USDA consumer survey shows strong support by consumers for plant-based products. At the USDA Ag Outlook, Plant-Based Products Council Executive Director James Glueck highlighted some of the findings from the survey, pointing to strong plant-based product purchase numbers. “The most recent data indicates that the domestic bio-based products industry adds over $470 billion in value annually to the U.S. economy.” The survey also showed a consumer preference for purchasing plant-based products as well as favoring the industry’s shift toward bio-based products.
