After six years on the job, Northern Crops Institute Director Mark Jirik is stepping down. “For me personally, there’s still a lot of things that I want to do careerwise and for a number of reasons the timing was right,” said Jirik. “From an NCI standpoint, we’ve been very fortunate to have good support from our legislatures in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota, but with the next legislative session coming up in North Dakota in January, it’s important to have a new director in place and it takes a while to get that position placed.” NCI Technical Manager David Boehm and NCI Program Development Manager Casey Peterson will serve as interim co-directors.
