The University of Minnesota Extension is offering the Minnesota Irrigator Program (MIP) to provide classes on water management. Topics will cover irrigation basics, soil moisture sensors, scheduling, and variable rate irrigation. The program, held on Wednesdays in March in Staples, MN, costs $75 and includes meals, with limited spots available. Attendance at MIP can contribute to certification in the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) and offer education credits for Certified Crop Advisers. For those unable to attend, the program will be available in rotating locations in future years.
