South Dakota State University is shutting down its dairy research and training facility by the end of June. As a result, SDSU plans to cooperate with large dairy farms in the region to provide hands-on experience for its students. Degrees in dairy production, dairy manufacturing and food science will continue to be offered. The SDSU dairy farm has approximately 300 head of dairy cattle.
