USDA has submitted rule changes to the Packers and Stockyards Act to the Office of Management and Budget for review. In addition, the Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department issued new merger guidance with additional scrutiny for new business mergers. National Farmers Union President Rob Larew said this is “major progress” in building a fairer, more equitable food system.
