Biden and Obrador Discuss Border Closures

Freight remains backed up on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. President Joe Biden and his Mexican counterpart, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador spoke by phone Thursday and senior Biden administration officials will travel to Mexico to discuss the border crisis. In response to a dramatic increase in undocumented immigrants entering the United States, the U.S. closed the rail crossings at Eagle Pass and El Paso, Texas Monday morning. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway are impacted by the closure with thousands of rail cars now stranded in Mexico.
