Wes Weible began farming in 1980 and has seen drastic changes in the ag industry over the years. Back then, acres were left unplanted every year. “Now with the machinery they have, none of the ground is black anymore. We seed every acre,” said Weible. Seed genetics and fertilizer technology has also seen great advancement. As farming style shifts, Weible says producers are facing new challenges. “Farms seem like they’re getting bigger and bigger all the time. “When I talk to big farmers, the hardest thing I find now is finding people to work.” Listen to the full conversation with Wes Weible here.
