In a Thursday briefing, Deputy Agriculture Secretary Xochitl Torres Small highlighted USDA’s support for the specialty crops sector. “We’ve launched a number of initiatives and programs to increase competition for producers of all sizes to boost market access for their product.” Small said this new Specialty Crop Competitiveness Initiative will promote trade while enhancing sustainability.
