There are wide gaps in perceptions between farmers and consumers. That’s according to a survey conducted this past spring by Nutrien. The largest divide between farmers and consumers is in environmental stewardship. When asked if farmers use more chemicals than necessary, there is a 45-point difference of opinion between production agriculture and consumers. Fifty-five percent of consumers have an overall negative top-of-mind perception about agriculture.
