The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals threw out the Environmental Protection Agency’s ban on the use of chlorpyrifos. The court determined the EPA disregarded its own science-based findings. “This is great news for soybean farmers, sugarbeet farmers and all farmers because this is a chemical that we really miss,” said Bob Worth, president, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association. Farmers are eager to have the uses of chlorpyrifos restored for the 2024 season. “It’ll be back, if you can find it. EPA shut down all that plants that were producing it so there’s no product available as of today. If they have some available for 2024, it is possible supplies will be realy limited.”
