Parts of Minnesota have been a little on the wet side up until this week. University of Minnesota Extension Corn Agronomist Jeff Coulter says corn harvest is coming along pretty well, despite random spurts of moisture. “It’s drying down quickly, so I think a lot of it is going to be pulled out in the next seven days.” Despite harvest progressing quickly, Coulter reminds farmers to watch for lodging and prioritize those fields first. Yields have been highly variable. “There’s been very few cases of exception fields, most are average to below average.”
