The minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee’s September meeting showed conflicting ideas about future interest rate hikes. Two-thirds of the committee indicated one more increase would be needed before the end of the year. Since March of 2022, the Fed raised interest rates 11 times to a target range of 5.25-to-5.5 percent. That’s the highest level in more than 20 years.
