Kevin Deinert, who farms at Mount Vernon, South Dakota, has moved onto dryland corn after finishing up silage and earlage. “Yields have been all over the board with some disappointing fields, but then a few miles away there’s some really good fields.” Deinert doesn’t know what to expect for his soybean harvest. “Area yields are anywhere from 70 (bushels per acre) all the way down to five so it will be interesting to see what’s out there.”Deinert leads the South Dakota Soybean Association.
