The House is looking for a new Speaker. “Speaker (Kevin) McCarthy brought a bipartisan agreement to keep the government open and he took a gamble with some of the hardline folks in his caucus who said if he cut a bipartisan deal, they would remove him as Speaker,” said Kam Quarles, CEO, National Potato Council. Another government shutdown deadline is coming up in just over a month. It’s going to be really challenging to put together the votes to keep the government open.”
