Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer and South Carolina Congressman Ralph Norman have introduced a bill requiring USDA to publicly disclose the names of the farmers receiving crop insurance payments and the amount received. If this bill passed, crop insurance payments would max out at $125,000 per year and coverage would be denied for farmers with more than $250,000 in annual adjusted gross income. The harvest price option would also go away if this proposal was approved.
