Canada’s immigration policy has been changed to ease the labor shortage. People within specific career categories are given priority and now have a streamlined path to permanent residence. The first round of invitations is going out to skilled people with agriculture and food experience. Canadian Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay said this is a tool that attracts workers with the skills needed for a world-class agricultural sector.
