On his farm near Stephen, Minnesota, Peter Hvidsten is impressed with early crop yields despite a lack of rain in his area. Wheat and dry beans were better than expected. The soybean harvest is early and corn is in various stages of production. “We had an average planting date, but the hot, dry weather over the summer pushed it ahead a good seven-to-ten days.” Corn harvest is still a few weeks away for Hvidsten.
