Weather has slowed the dry bean harvest. “We’ve had a couple showers, fog and cloudy days.” said Dean Nelson, Hatton location manager, Kelley Bean Company. Nelson reports the pinto bean harvest is about 75 percent done and black beans are 40 percent harvested. Outside of some split beans, Nelson said the crop has been in good condition. “The general profile of beans may be a bit smaller because of the dryness we’ve had during the growing season.”
