The Center for Biological Diversity and Pesticide Action Network filed a complaint in 2011 claiming EPA was violating the Endangered Species Act when it registered pesticide active ingredients. The settlement includes the development of mitigation measures for listed species that are particularly vulnerable to pesticide exposure and the development of a herbicide strategy that addresses the potential impact on hundreds of ESA-listed species.
