The Personal Consumption Expenditures price index rose 3.3 percent in July. That’s up from three percent in the June report. This rate is down from the peak of seven percent last summer, but it remains well below the two percent growth rate sought by the Federal Reserve Bank. The inflation rate is being monitored closely as the Fed considers additional interest rate increases.
