Zaner Ag Hedge Chief Market Strategist Ted Seifried is on the eastern portion of the Pro Farmer Crop Tour. He says yield potential is high in Ohio. “Right now, Ohio corn yields are about ten bushels an acre higher than what the Pro Farmer three-year average has been, so it’s a very good crop.” The crop may not be mature enough for a confident prediction, but the potential is there. “Most of the corn we were seeing is in the dough stage. In fact, some outside of Columbus was just getting to the dough stage so when we’re giving yield estimates in the third week of August, it’s always with an asterisk.” Listen to the full interview with Ted Seifried here.
