Columbia Grain Dry Edible Bean Manager Cody Michael has seen the dry bean harvest start in the Larimore, North Dakota area. The crop is variable due to spotty rains during the growing season. “Some guys are going to be in the 10-bag range, while others are going to be in the 20-bag range, it depends on when they got moisture.” Michael is worried recent rains could lead to uneven growth stages. “If we get a rain pattern, some of the plants might be dead, but the bottom half could start growing.”
